One of the nicer improvements in Windows 8 is the restyled Task Manager. You get more informatiom and this does help show what is going on, or wrong, on your computer. I have been pleasantly surprised so far with the efficiency of the memory handling even when mutiple applicaitons are running together - something which happens quite a lot as there is no obvious way to close them once started, and it isn't easy to see what is actually running while you work. If you've ever double-clicked the button on your iPad or iPhone and seen the mystifyingly long list of running apps you'll have an idea of what I mean.
The difference between Windows 8 and IOS devices however is that it actually is multi-tasking, not just pretending to - so this memory mangement process is vital to the smooth running of your computer
